Brown’s 150th Anniversary

It’s back-to-school season this month, so for September’s post I thought I’d take a look through my digital illustration collection and see if I had anything that fit the mood. This poster from Brown University’s 150th Anniversary was my favorite of the bunch, although unfortunately I can’t seem to track down the artist. I remember it being attributed to John E. Sheridan (a famous illustrator of the era, well-known for his Saturday Evening Post covers, Hart Schaffner & Marx catalogs, and WWI posters) when I found it but I can’t find anything else to confirm that. It looks like there’s a small monogram signature located next to the lamp at the bottom right; if anyone recognizes it, please let me know!
